Aussie finishes just behind Kai Sallas at Oxbow Longboard contest in Maldives
VIEW THE PHOTOS
CONDITIONS: Longboarding's best gathered at Pasta Point early this week for clean three-footers and a shot at glory.

HIGHLIGHTS: Kai Sallas (Hawaii) edged out Australasia's Harley Ingelby in the closing minutes of a high-scoring, back-and-forth Final. The final combo score: 15.65 to 14.00. Ingeby's second place finish was enough to clinch his first ASP World Longboard Title.

OVERALL PERFORMERS: Both Sallas and Ingelby. The two surfers showed incredible patience, outlasting some tough competitors in tight, seesawing early rounds.

QUOTE: "It's the best day of my life." - Harley Ingeby after securing the 2009 ASP World Longboard title
