3rd Annual Ultimate Boarder Championship Rides Big to San Diego & Lake Tahoe
PRESS RELEASE

Ultimate Boarder - the triathlon of a new generation - rides big to new locations in San Diego and Lake Tahoe for its 3rd annual championship to be held Saturday-Sunday, March 13-21, 2010.

The one-week competition to find the athlete who can conquer the art of surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding has secured new venues for each leg, including: the snow leg in Lake Tahoe at Northstar-at-Tahoe(TM) Resort, Saturday-Sunday, March 13-14; the surf competition at Seaside Reef in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Calif. (San Diego County), Tuesday-Friday, March 16-19; and skateboarding contest at Del Mar Fairgrounds in Del Mar, Calif. (San Diego County), Saturday-Sunday, March 20-21. A concert will be tied to the skate event on Saturday, March 20, and Ski Dazzle will produce a consumer trade show focused on surf-skate-snow tied to the Del Mar event.

"A growing increase in action sports popularity has been phenomenal at both the participant and fan levels," said Tim Hoover, Founder & CEO of Ultimate Boarder. "We are proud that Ultimate Boarder continues to grow year-over-year which has inspired our move to locations that opens the event up to a broader audience."

The week-long Ultimate Boarder Championship will again be produced into a one-hour television show that will air in Fall 2010. Versus Network has been inked to air the 2010 World TV premiere to 75 million households. Ultimate Boarder will then be licensed in syndication to more than 200 million households with multiple showings on licensed networks. A partnership with Global Broadcasting extends the reach globally as well.

In anticipation of fueling up for the ultimate surf-skate-snow solo and team triathlon-style competition, Ultimate Boarder has teamed up with experiential marketing powerhouse Kaleidoscope Sports & Entertainment.

The marketing alliance brings Kaleidoscope on board to provide marketing consultancy and partnership development to the sports property through the 2010 event. An immediate goal will be helping Ultimate Boarder secure sponsor partnerships in categories such as: automotive, beverage, QSR, health/beauty, consumer packaged goods, apparel, sports industry specialties, and more.

"Ultimate Boarder is one of those unique platforms that deliver integrated media and experiential marketing opportunities that sponsors seek out," explained Mike Snyder, vice president of development for Kaleidoscope Sports & Entertainment. "Ultimate Boarder can connect sponsors and brands with a highly targeted and sought-after demographic in a relevant and impactful way."

After the inaugural Ultimate Boarder event in 2008, the event was named the "Best New Sports Event of the Year" by SportsTravel Magazine and heralded by media such as the New York Times. The idea to establish the best-of-the-best in snowboarding, skateboarding and surfing has caught heightened interest by the fans of the three disciplines too - many of whom often dabble in or follow more than one board sport.

"I wanted to do something to inspire and create a format for the next generation of kids that grow up in this lifestyle," said Hoover.

The Ultimate Boarder Championship includes individual and team competition, and new for 2010 will be the addition of a new category with an Under-16 youth solo division.
The list of notable athletes scheduled to compete continues to grow, and already includes:

Todd Richards, X-Games Gold medalist and 1994 U.S. Open Champ;
Chad Shelter, 2009 Ultimate Boarder Champion;
